Changing Trans Oil (Opinion Please)

Going to change my transmission oil (6 speed) what type? I's a choice between RED LINE MTL and ROYAL PURPLE, problem what type do I use if I go with RP. Need Imput

I just use GM trans fluid. Works great.

GM stuff is probably a good bet.
Otherwise, call a tranny shop and ask them.
The most expensive fluid I put in mine is Mobil 1 ATF.
I can't see spending $12 a quart for a product that is barely any better than the $7 a quart stuff.

^^I agree. Kind of like buying generic perscriptions. Same thing just different names.

I went with just the regular atf, I know synthetic is said to be better, saves hp,etc. I just don't trust it, each manufacturer says something different for each tranny. Personally I am just into running what oem recommends.

I have replaced over 15 with the RedLine and had great results. I have also used the Amsoil lately and had the same results.
If your in a warm climate I didn't look I would suggest changing to either of them to help with heat.

I prefer the Redline D4 ATF over the MTL. I've tried both.
