    changing from auto transmission to manual

    what do i need to change?? iknow the transmission of course
    but what about other thing pedals set and mastercylinder and
    where can i get the whole set? give me a wed sit please........???!!

    You will need... pedals, hydraulics, clutch, slave cylinder, pilot bearing, transmission crossmember, upper center console piece, shifter, transmission, rear end gears (optional) and that ought to be it. I may have missed something. Good luck with your conversion, im doing my conversion next weekend

    Actually that is a little different from doing it in a 4th gen. Here is a link to a walkthrough for doing this on a 4th gen with a t56. http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...wap/index.html
    This way there will be no guess work involved, like there would be using that other guide. Im getting ready to do this swap next weekend and that will be the guide i use. Ill post and let you know how it went.

    I had a 99z with an automatic, wanted a 6 speed. After I read this article I went out and traded my 99z with the automatic for a 2002 M6. Lots of work and it did not seem worth it. I love my 6 speed now more then ever.

    ^ definitely the best way to do it. Its much, much cheaper and easier. Its hard to part with a car like this but unless you have a built engine, it would be a lot less of a headache to trade it for a M6.
