Buying new clutch kit soon, need opinions
Ok guys i have no idea which clutch is in my car right now, but i can tell u it is not stock, it is very stiff compared to stock. I want to buy a new clutch kit soon because mine is shot and slips really bad, and sometimes i can smell it burning up. I was looking into the ls7 clutch kit real good but after i read around people say it gets it back to stock pressure and feels like a stock clutch again, me personally, i dont like the stock, soft feeling. I like it hard to push, and stiff. LOL. Seriously though which clutch kits on the market offer a clutch like that is stiff to the pedal, BTW my budget is about $550. If there are none worth it im just going to go with the ls7 because everyone on here recomends it.

I run a Spec clutch on mine - but the one I have is going to be overkill for you. They do make quite a few clutches for a lot of applications - so I'm sure they've got one for you. Some people don't like Spec because they tend to chatter some on takeoff. I never really cared about it. I love the way the clutch feels and engages. I've heard good reviews of Monster and Textralia also. I'm sure others will post what they like as well.

LS7 on that budget or a Monster clutch if they have one in that price range. I have a Spec Stage 3+ and don't like chatter on take-off personally. It has A LOT of grip though and holds well.

the cheapest level 2 monster clutch is 699.99. I would not mind spending 700 dollars on the clutch and get it installed for 300 dollars IF it will be abosolutely worth it AND if every other clutch on the market is shit, but that doesnt seem like the case. Has anyone had any experience with the ACT Race clutch kit 6 Puck? price is 419.99

How much is the LS7 clutch from KYSPEED? It's a nice piece from what I hear. I'd ask someone who has one installed.

the only thing i dont like about the ls7 clutch is that it is a "Stock pedal feel", and not stiff.

In all honesty, my Spec Stage 3+ clutch doesn't feel all that much stiffer than OEM after it got broke in.

me and my brother sat around all day looking at clutches and reviews and stuff, and considering what we are eventually going to do to the car. I just ordered the Monster level 4 clutch kit rated at 775hp/tq. It was 696 after tax and shipping costs. Hopefully its here by next week and i get it installed by next weekend, thanks for all the input guys it really finalized my decision.

ok guys i ended up getting the clutch put in saturday. It was a pain in the ass without a lift. The clutch that was in it was a RAM clutch and it was all burnt to shit. I got the monster clutch in and i like it a lot, its not stiff though, but its not bad at all. Theres not much travel on the pedal, its either ur on or off. The thing just grabs and it feels nice. I have 60 miles on it already and counting. I cant wait to rip this thing and chirp some gears. Its real nice compared to the shitty clutch before that slipped like no other.
