    Automatic to Manual Swap

    Can anyone give me a play by play of what I need to do to swap my automatic 4l60e transmission to whatever the stock 6 speed transmission is? I'm not sure what the model number of the 6-speeds that came with it are. I've got a 1999 Z28 w/the ls1. No mods. Also, any suggestions as to where I can find the 6 speed? I'm from the Chippewa Falls, WI area and would prefer to keep it close so I don't have to drive too far to pick it up or pay for shipping on it as I'm sure it'd be pretty costly. I've heard of people doing the swaps, just want to know how to do it and all the materials I would need. (wiring harnesses, computer, clutch pedal assembly, etc.) I don't know a whole lot about transmission swaps so laymens terms would be great. I'll be having some friends help me with the swap that have done transmission work but never a full out swap. Also, if anyone would like to trade their manual 6 speed for my automatic, it has 160,000 on it, I just opened it up and had it checked, flushed, and a new filter put in and it's in great shape. I'm not sure what it's worth, but if someone wants to buy it let me know and I'll pull it out for you and put the cash towards the 6-speed. THANK YOU!!

    Try this thread for info on auto to manual swap. It can be done but its easier to just buy a M6 car.
