Anyone converted 06 Corvette transmission to 02 Trans Am?

Is their a write up on here about that? Ive already bought the main shaft from a GTO, and have the housing t move it over, I just need a write up on how to take apart the vette trans.

I thought the trans in a vette was part of the rear end?

If your intend is to do a trans swap go with the T56 MAGNUM. its the T-6060 from the 5th Gen but the tail stock is changed to match 4th Gen's

From what I've gathered is that you remove the housing, and shift rails, then put the internals into your old housing with a GTO Mainshaft, and it will work as an upgraded trans.

seems like alot of work to be done when you could just get the t-56 magnum and it holds more HP.... i could be wrong because im not sure of exact numbers.. have you looked into pricing the vette trans?

I bought one for $500, it only had 10K miles. And the GTO Mainshaft was only $200. So it shouldn't be too bad now.
