    98 6 speed grinds in 4th

I autocross and drag race a bit. My Z28 just began grinding sometimes going into 4th from 1st. The other gears so far are fine.

Could this be an issue with the Chevy shifter?

If I need a rebuild, would it be better to get a new 6 speed? Where would I get a new 6 speed? Is a rebuild the beginning of the end?

I see your new so perhaps slack is due, but a search would have told you that this is a common / known problem with the original aluminum 3/4 shift fork. You will need to install a replacement iron part to solve the problem.

    Searching

Thanks for the advice. What is the best way to search? How would I have searched for this problem? Thanks
