    6-speed question

Hi all, been a member for about a year, this is my first post. I have an '02 SS that I factory with the Hurst shifter. This morning I drove it to work and when I started it the trans felt like there was no 2nd, 4th or 6th gear. If I put the shifter in 2nd, 4th or 6th and let go of the lever the lever would go into neutral. I can hold the lever in any of the gates and when I let out the clutch the car will move. I can drive the car in 1st, 3rd and 5th and after the car was warm the shifter stayed in the gate I selected. The shifter feels like a strong spring is pulling it into neutral. This has happened twice in 7 years and both times it has been very cold. The car is parked outside. Any ideas?

Sounds like the shifter needs a lube. It comes with a chassis type grease. If it's still stock here is your excuse to replace it with a Nice one.
I really like the Pro 5.0 shifter.
