    4th gear scratching...

im noticing that my 4th gear is scratching...somtimes it does it and somtimes it doesnt...it will almost always scratch say if im downshifting from 5th into 4th or shifting from 3rd into 4th at higher rpms and shifting quickly...is this a sign of clutch problems or perhaps just some adjusting that needs to be done...and its not with how i drive a manual either its just it gets me everytime and starting to get irritating...any ideas?

If you try to shift without the clutch and not actually try to revmatch it, put light pressure on the stick, you can actually feel the blocker assembly trying to help match the speed of the gear and slider. If this light pressure isn't there and it automatically starts to grind with light pressure on the stick the synchro is probably on it's way out...

Like I told ya I think someone did a few to many hard 4th gear drops on the highway...
