Red- 2000 Camaro SS M6
3rd Gear Shifter Shake
I have a 2000 SS and i noticed that when i shift into third and accelerate, i can see the shifter shake a bit. the weird thing is that shifting into third doesn't feel like i throw the shifter as far as i do in any of the other gears. it feels like it goes about 80% of the way in. i can't push it any further. but as far as this shaking problem goes... if i i put light pressure on the shifter as if i'm going to take it out of gear, i can really feel the shaking. it feels like i can feel the gears meshing roughly. so i can't help but think that it never goes all the way into third gear. is there an adjustment for that or is something wrong with the fork or synchros?
thanks

Doesn't sound like a synchro problem. I'm assuming it's the stock shifter??? I don't believe there are adjusters on the stock piece. Do yourself a favor and get the pro 5.0 or b&m shifter. Can't go wrong with either. Nice, solid, metal stops that are adjustable.
Anyone else with t56 experience care to chime in???

mine does it too. but it shakes in all gears, and has for the last 20 thousand miles. i think my clutch is starting to go as my mpg has droped from around 18-20 average to around 15-16 average. i havent looked into it that much, as the car has 120k miles, so i figure the clutch should be going around now. i bought the car at 100k miles and the only thing that has changed is the clutch, it sticks every now and then and it doesnt hold like it used to.

yeah it's the stock shifter. I'll probably upgrade to the pro 5.0 with a short stick in about a year.
it just bothers me a bit because it feels like i'm doing premature wear on that gear. maybe it's nothing to worry about but if there were adjustments, i really think that'd take care of the whole issue.
