    Yank SY 3500

I was told it is 2.5 str I checked their website and cant find SY, I found SS and YS and what not, can anyone tell me anything about this particular one. there is a sticker on it that says "LS1 SY 3500 8/03". Does the Diablo predator tuner give you the option to remove torque management?

I had an SY3500 back in the day. I dumped it for a PY3400. I regretted that decision. The SY3500 was an awesome converter, and I want to say the STR was 2.5. All I know is I missed that a lot.

The Predator will allow you to remove TM, but to just what extent I'm not sure.

so it is a good Converter? Also how would you expect it to perform for mainly street use. I do plan on getting a shift kit and tranny cooler also.

It's a great converter in my opinion. On the street it left the line pretty hard.

You absolutely NEED a trans cooler. (B&M 26K GVWR) A shift kit not so much, you can do it electronically. Save your cash, by an HP Tuners module and tune your ride (you can adjust the trans with the program and not need a shift kit). You won't regret that purchase.

That's what the forums are for. Believe me, there is PLENTY of info to help you. It's much easier than you think. I'm almost local to you, and can help with it to. It's really an invaluable tool to have for the car.

I sent an email to Yank performance trying to get some info on the converter and they finally wrote me back stating that it is an older TC and they dont make it anymore and that the STR is only 1.61!?!?!?!?!? Is this just some BS to try and get me to buy a new one or what? I didnt think Yank ever made a TC with STR lower than 2.0 ever. Give me some Feed back fellas.

ok Dave Meyers said he has no old documentation but said he is pretty sure it is 1.61 STR and it may have been confused with the ST3500 as it was 2.5 STR. I am trying to get some feed back here fellas. Anyone had this TC in the past and remember what the STR was?

I had that exact converter, can't for the life of me remember the STR. What I do know it is was one of the best I ever had in my SS.

alot of guys are telling me that with the STR that low it will be real loose and my MPG will drop big time. I am thinking it is meant to be a Drag TC only. I am going to try and sell or trade it. Interested?

I ran it on the street, it's a street converter. I don't know if it would work in my truck though. Let me see. PM me with a price if you are seriously looking to offload it.
