Which Yank Stall To Buy?
I have a 98' T/A, 2.73's, Lid, Filter, Cat-Back, and looking to do my first real mod. I've been reading up and decided to go with a Yank Converter due to the tight feel and overall quality of their converters. What stall should I go with? I was thinking 3200, it seems like a good mid range stall to me... Also what all will I need done along with the converter install? Also I may eventually upgrade to 3.73's... Thanks in advance for the help!

the 3200 is a good stall. with a stall, youll need a shift kit and a trans oil cooler. a converter tune would also be a plus.
ls1speed.com does great work in our area2000 nhra edition formula

I had a Yank 3000 stall and the quality is good but at least on mine it seemed like the stall was rated higher than it really was. I personally would say go with like a 3400 to 3600 stall. Might be slightly high if you just want a little more out of your car but I hate to see you spend the money and then have to go and do it again.
The advice about a tranny cooler is VERY good!!! Make absolutly sure you install a cooler. The coolers are fairly cheap at around 50 to 75 depending on manufacturer. The Trans-Go shift kit is one of the most popular and is good quality and those go for around 100 maybe a little more or less depending on where you get it.98 T/A: HPE 5.3 Heads, 238/242 113 cam, Kooks 1 7/8 stepped LT headers, Custom Y pipe, Cut out, Borla, NW 90MM TB, FAST 90MM Intake, TB Bypass, Under Drive Power steering and Crank, 150 Dry NOS, Yella Terra rockers, 3400 TC, HPE tuning,

trans cooler is a MUST HAVE if not say bye-bye to the trans
also get good fittings and stainless steel braided lines (or have hard lines made)
rubber lines are a serous chance... have one blow and not realize it and no more go for you
shift kit is not neccessary... depends on preference...
personally i believe in doing with out then doing the shift kit later if you feel its neccessary
or wait it out and have the entire trans beefed up when its neccessary
torque managment will need to be removed too...
and do ALOT of reading pertaining to allowing someone to adjust your line pressure... too much and again... bye-bye tranny
get a 3600 yank
the higher the STR the more street friendly & harder it hits the tires

I did Yank ST3500, 3.42 gears, hayden tranny cooler and a tune. Car acts like its stock but going from a dig or whenever the car is a beast.
