Question Which will benefit me more?

i am debating between a 3400 stall and 3.73 gears. right now i have 3.23's in the rear end and was wondering if i would feel a difference going from 3.23 to 3.73's? Also how much Drive ability will i lose with the stall its mostly a street car maybe only 1 or 2 trips to the strip a year. so which one would be a better choice?

You won't lose any driveability with a 3400 stall.

after installing yank's ss series stalls, most people say they don't notice much of a difference, till they floor it

I think the Yanks are one of the best you can get...but no, a 3400 stall is easily driveable-you won't lose any driveability...same with the gears.

I was quoted 200 for a gear swap with no tune around here. I kinda had his same question except I have 3.42's and were thinking about 3.73's. TC's are kind of a mystery to me. I understand how they work as far as getting power into the tranny but I'm retarded when it comes to stall speeds.

How does a higher stall give you more performance when you "floor it"? And it's more of a pickup than having lower gears?

Someone correct me if i'm wrong but:

SS 4000 for example should flash to 4000 rmps compared to a vig 2800 that flashes to about 2800.

You can learn all about stalls on the link i provided.

"The high stall torque converter will "slip" the engine into a higher rpm range where there is more torque and horsepower."

It sounds like you were able to read up on stalls so I don't know if you're needing more info on them, but a stall converter will increase your performance MUCH MORE than having lower gears!!!

a cheap cooler will work, but a good one with a remote mount spinoff filter is what you should use... a few more bucks on a good cooler might just save you ALOT of money on a new tranny later
Good luck with the build man!

I got a pretty big cooler off a F250 mounted horizontally under the radiator. Should do the trick yeah?
