where did you get you're built 4l60e?

i need to get mine built. i'm from the atlanta area. i should have a good shop near me, but a couple i talked to just offer to put better clutches, servos, and add a shift kit, but other then that i guess basic. with all the performance builders online that specialize in building a 4l60e, i was wondering if i will get a better unit vs a local shop.

only thing would'nt like is having to do warranty work threw shipping.

i'm just wondering who has used who and how happy are you are with you're trans.

I am in the same boat as you and in Woodstock, ga. I ordered one on-line from some place in Maryland. I hope to God it's good. It's going in next week.

I'd probably go with an online specialty builder. there a ton of upgrades you're missing out on from your local guy.

Ordering a PerformaBuilt soon for our car. Comes with a standard one year warranty that is upgraded to a two year warranty if you also purchase a torque converter. This includes coverage if you break it at the track! I looked at a couple of others and no one else comes close to this kind of warranty. Three additional reasons:

    1. No core required

    2. Free shipping

    3. Site sponsor

    Here's a link: PerformaBuilt Transmissions

I am pretty set on their Level 2 with a billet converter.
