Is it possibly a red wire that has faded to pink? Are you using a 4L60E transmission?

i'm useing a 4l80e and term e on mine is pink so i checked my pickup truck with an 4l60e and it was pink and it was hot with the key on so i put power to the pink wire on mine an now my tranny works fine but my plug has 2 red wires one solid and 1 with black stripe that were not hot with key on ?, autometer says that gm changes wire color from car and truck to different years, but anyway thanks for the info i didn't know where to start without it
