Transmission pan w/ drain plug *******

I recently bought a 98 z-28 with an automatic transmission. I am going to change the transmission filter and fluid and want to replace the pan with a new pan that has a drain plug. Also,is it a good idea to get a pan that holds more transmission fluid than the stock pan? Can anyone tell me where to buy one and possibly the part#. Would I come out better buying the kit where you can add your own drain plug to the stock pan? Thanks for your help on this guys.--------deadbydawn421 (mike)

    re

Derale Transmission Pans. I have one and have had no problems with it. It has a drain plug and holds a little more fluid then normal. The cooling tubes seem to be a good idea and most likly work. Summit Racing has them part# DER-14104.

What more fluid does is it gives the transmission more fluid to remove heat from the tranny, it also does not allow the tranny to heat up as quickly since it takes more energy to heat a larger amount of fluid. I'd also install a transmission cooler, it will greatly decrease the tranny's temp and help prolong its life.
