    tranny doesn't always hold power..

if i go easy it works perfect and sometimes when i punch it it just takes off but sometimes in second gear it will slip under heavy throttle. and if i try to hold it out in first it will get 3/4 of the way reved out and it just kinda goes out of gear.. it takes a while to engage when you put it in drive.. i am guessing that the tranny is bad.. its a 94 t/a. the fluid was at the right level when i checked it.. don't know if there was a problem before i got it running.. i bought the car with a blown engine. i swapped the wiring harness and the speedometer started working..lol.. could it be something else besides the tranny needing replaced?

Nope. If it has fluid and is still slipping. You need a trans.
