    Tranny Cooler

Just ordered my Yank S/S 3600. I'm also going to install a tranny cooler and wanted to get some opinions on what brand tranny cooler works best for the LS1 F-Body. Thanks in advance.

The Hayden model #1404 or #1405 (22K gvw and 26K gvw respectively) are good ones. Go to the website and get the information you need as to which will fit your vehicle.

I notice your vehicle is a 2002, I would strongly recommend replacing the weak flexplates that were installed in the 01 & 02 years, TCI makes an SF29 race grade flexplate for about $99, Jeg's and Summitt carry the unit, the flexplate come with longer bolts.

WOW, guess the prices went up since I purchased, still, it is cheap insurance.

The weaker flexplates were incorporated in the 2000 - 2002 model years.

If your flexplate is not cracked (presently) they are telling you that it is fine, and does not need replacement.

When you replace the TC, you need to remove 3 of the 5 bolts that go into the flexplate anyway, THIS WOULD BE THE TIME TO UPGRADE THE FLEXPLATE, if you can afford to do so, it is cheap insurance.

the b&m option is very straight forward and inexpensive, i have been running one that has a fan and the cooler is about 16x16, and do not run it back through the transmission

i just bought a tci super street fighter 3500 stall convertor....and noticed these coolers....how hard are they to install? is it literally as easy as pulling the fittings off the radiator/cooler and screwing them into the new cooler, or do i need to cut the ends off the tranny lines and use rubber hose to the new cooler??? i dont want to jerry rig my camaro, as shes been my baby for about 6 years now and i havent cut corners yet
