    New Tranny Mount.

I just replaced my tattered tranny mount with a polyurethane energy suspension piece. But the car rattles and shakes a lot more. I think its because I upgraded to a polyurethane one. I just need confirmation to make myself feel better! lol

Did any of you do this...and if so, did you notice that there were more rattles afterwards. It is a very noticeable difference in my car.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I got more rattles! It will even make your exhaust rattle a little more due to the vibrations.
It was definnitly worth it though!

Well, the exhaust hanger is attached to the tranny, so when I let off of the gas, I get a little vibration! Nothing serious, and some may not notice it all! It is better to have it cause you will not get as much movement of the shifter during full throttle!

Did you install the spacer that came with it? Leave that piece out and grind the knubs off it. No vibration here with the energy mount. Now the prothane was a different story.

I bought a new urethane mount drove down the road and came back and bought a new GM mount. Too much vibration and it had rattles everywhere. The GM mount was like a cadillac compared to a horse and buggy. Change it back for a new stock rubber mount. Those mounts throw off the drive train alignment and arent worth a crap.

I couldn't handle it long enough to let it reak it if that is the case. It was junk. I didn't want it to beat my u-joints out.

The mount is thicker than stock, but it is so much firmer that it makes a difference. I have all my bushing replaced with energy suspension polyurethane bushings. The ride is firmer and there is vibration from my Magnaflow cat-back. Overall it is significantly tighter and more responsive. The trade off is worth it to me.

It does feel a lot better but those vibrations and rattles are definitely annoying!! I do agree OR HOPE that they will go away after breaking in. I will give it some time. I'll post the verdict here.

The problem with the "Energy Suspension" mount is that it is NOT model specific, it is more of a universal mount (i.e. the bumps & plate).

"Prothane" is the mount to use, it IS model specific.

I had a small piece of flat rubber installed between the poly mount and the crossmember, and it has kept Sara very quiet. I do have a little vibration though her gear shift knob (A4).

    My exhaust does not rattle.
