    New tranny???

I was under my car for the first time really looking things over when i noticed that the tranny looks brand new! The finish looks like it was just painted or something. It has me thinking that its not the original, and that it was recently changed out. I would like to know if it was a better aftermarket one or a rebuild.

Is there anything on the stock houseing that would mark it as differant than an aftermarket? Or anyother way of visually identifying?

Most aftermarket trans makers I know of use factory housings with beefed up internals so there wont be much of a clue there to its guts.
