    GM Remanufactured Transmission

Ok so I've been reading about what trans will work in my 1998 Z28. Will a GM Remanufactured Part #17804239 be compatible in my 98 if I swap out the tail shaft housing? Thanks for the help

Ok so the swap went smooth and everything bolted and plugged right in. Only thing wrong is this is a 2009 trans and does not have the 2-3 shift solenoid amongst a few other things as far as I know. SO my car will not shift out of 1st gear. Anyways does anyone know if its possible to make this trans work without switching out the valvebody or is this the only way? Thanks

Sorry, I missed your original post. From what I have read, the '09 and up transmissions are simply different animals inside. Not sure if it can be made to work using your PCM.

Yeah I've been doing some reading and a few guys are saying if you switch the valve body, internal wire harness, and add the shift solenoids it should work. Another said I could splice in a resistor to emulate the solenoids and fix my shifting problems I guess like some guys with a 4L80E do? Is there anything like an EZ-TCU that will run it?

It wouldn't surprise me if an aftermarket controller can make it work. Better be sitting down when you click this link: Chevrolet Performance 19212657 Chevrolet Performance SuperMatic Transmission Controller

Hahaha yeah you weren't kidding about sitting down on that one. From what I've read swapping in the valve body, separator plate and solenoids and I should be good to go? Just trying to find out if there's other solutions first so I don't have to drop the pan? Oh well if I have to I will I suppose
