Drain a converter
anyone know if it is possible to drain a vigilante converter, I HAVE A 4L60E AND THE 3TH AND 4TH FAIL, I WANT TO USE MY CONVERTER BUT I DON`T KNOW I THIS POSIBLE??

It real hard to do this,Is it a lockup? If it is you will unbalance it if you drill it on the side.if you drill it from the back it will be useless.It will mess up the lock up plate. if there's not any medal just stand it on the side and let it drain,lay it down for 30 min. then stand on side,repeat and that the best you can do unless you send it off to open it up.there's some mods you can do to help 3-4 clutches.Let me know if i can help.i have a trans shop and can give you info to help.Later!

have you emailed precision industries and asked them about it? They may be willing to work with you on it and cut you a break.

Last time I checked with PI it's still $225 for a cut clean and restall. Fwiw, it was back in Feb that I checked. I ended up just buying a new converter and selling the old one.

I lost the 3/4 pack 2 times(no metal in fluid)I drain conv each time and reinstall with no problem
