Detroit Locker!!!!!
Unless it's a ALL-OUT race car I would ALWAYS run a Detroit Locker!!!!!!! The Detroit works off of a "dog-tooth" set-up instead of clutches.......No clutches to wear out.....Plus I'm "old school" I LOVE THE SOUND OF A DETROIT LOCKER WHEN I"M TURNING THE CORNER!!!!!!
If it is a ALL-OUT race car run a spool!!!Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

I ran a mini spool on a daily driver because it cost me $30. Dont do it. Parking spins the rear inside tire bad and tries to push the front outside tire off the rim. The trac lok always slips when I'm trying to drift. I want some type of locker. The cogs on the locker will wear faster than the clutches on trac lok I believe. Anyone actually put some miles on one?

Yes I have 9800 HARD MILES & HUNDREDS OF DONUTS on my Locker.
No problems in ALL my cars!!
And the 9800 miles is in a 4340lb. 10 sec. 65 Fury that was driven daily for a year and half on the street with 29x12.50 ET Streets and radials.
The dog teeth aren't going to wear beacause they are harndened tool steel.
PowerTrax work really good too. They go right inside your stock carrier.......We have multiple 10sec. cars that have been running them for years with NO trouble.

I looked at the website. Do you know about how much they are. Seems to be a secrete.

Wow. Cant you buy a whole posi, carrier, and gear for that much?

Yeah but I guess you don't see the benefits of there unit.... If you are replacing the carrier that means complete disassembly....Not to mention the hours of labor....A NEW crush sleeve....Finding a good "run-out" pattern with your new crush sleeve on the pinion gear....
With that unit you take the cover off pull out the cross pin,Spider gears, and Side gears.........Install there dog teeth-side gears and middle spring/spacer and put cross pin back in and your done.

I guess I'll just go with a shim in the springs of the stock unit.

Odd. If it is working they should not be sliping at all. If it is not working you should be burning 1 tire with no donut. & being drinched in oil I wouldn't think they would go out that easy. Usually wet clutches last FOREVER.

Well if you talk to anyone that does donuts on a "regular" bassis I'm sure they will tell you the same thing.........When I say regular I mean every other weekend NOT 3 or 4 tyimes a year!!!
Had this problem and adressed it with a locker since 92.
