    Built 4L60e-TransBrake?

    Im all set to order my performa built stage II 4L60 and i was just curious if anyone is running a trnsbrk on their cars/if they have hear anything about them. thanks

    I know people have done it, but someone told me it wouldn't be much better for me because I can launch at 3k+ RPMS with my stall anyways.

    Yep I was thinking the same thing about a trnsbrk with a stall would cancel its self out pretty much...ill be doing some homework on this one

    Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the only time I see it being useful is if you want to launch at 4-5k and spool a turbo, for example.

    A transbrake will hit harder than just simply footbraking the car. Almost as if you have a stick car and popping the clutch.
    For best consistency it's best to use a transbrake with a 2 step.

    The only drawback that I have ran into is it requires you to use a full manual reverse valve body,,,,(on the 400 turbo's I used them on)

    I'm not sure about the valve body situation on the 4L60E though. Never interested me to do such a thing to the 4L60.

    ^^^Agreed. Footbraking loads up the suspension and may not transfer weight to the rear tires for traction. A lot of times it leads to traction issues. Transbrake lets the suspension do its thing at the launch and works better especially when your suspension is setup for drag racing. I've seen some pretty sweet video showing this stuff before.

    anyone seen a transbrake on a 4l60e
