A4 this or that? (houston)

My A4 4l60E is slipping in 4th and trickling to 3rd so time for a rebuild or replacement!

so first off preforma tranny or rebuild local? cost wise is about a $700 difference it seems, when you add the stall. but i dont know of any good tranny shops around me personaly. I found this one http://www.texasperformancetransmissions.com/2.html looking at the 4L60E Competition Level I, quoted $1300 total (no stall) .Does anyone know this shop? or can you lead me to one that you know is good and wont try to rip you off? Decisions, decisions haha

For me personally, It always comes down to feed back. I know preformabuilt is running a holiday special were you buy it and the enter your name into a free trans contest. They also have a lot of feed back.

You might want to learn a little about the 4l60E and find out what breaks and lay out the choices side by side and see what each shop is going to do to the trans and is it enough for your app. Make sure one shop isn't ignoring a part that can become a sleeping giant in repairs later down the road.
