    Talking 4.8 crate engine 5 speed trans only?

    hi everone was just wondering . i bought a new longblock 4.8 and it came with flywheel and clutch already assembled. and the person i bought it from said that it can only be used with a 5 speed transmission. because of an extra long crankshaft issue? does this sound right? and also i have a getrag 5 speed from 4.3 2000 s-10 2wd truck could i adapt this to the newer ls1 engine with out any issues if i use the clutch that came open the engine thanks ....
