    00' ss A4 tranny strength?

Yea i have a 00' ss a4. I am about to put polished dart heads, cam, lifters, 85mm intake and throttle body. It already has longtubes and full borla. So im guessin it will have at least 450hp. The car has 100k miles on it. How long will the stock tranny hold up?

i'm assuming the tranny's stock... no way to tell how long it will last, but i can tell you it will go, the trannys break under stock power. just keep some funds saved up for when it does, and go with a th350 or th400 and be done iwth it

You might want to save some money for a rebuild. 4L60E trannys last about 100k. Mine made it to 90k before it blew out on me. And 2k later its better than ever. I just have minor bolt ons. But I know the previous owner drove it to hell and back.

prolly not, your also going to want to get a stall when you do rebuild it, cause it will be a bitch to drive with your cam, and it wants to fight through red lights

450hp will likely destroy a turbo 350 unless built correctly(full manual valve body, extra clutches), which can be pricey. The th-400 would definitely be the safest route making that much power; especially with the nitrous. The 400 robs more power but can be built much stronger.

I ran over 30 bottles of nos in my ta at 150 shot and never broke a tranny but for gm every tranny breaks at 100k cause no one every changes the tranny fluid every 30k like it should be infacted if you have a auto matice and you treat it right it will take it. but breaking the stock rear end thats easy.
