Question Will long tube install need a tune?

    I have a 2001 A4 formula with a 3.23 and 3,600 stall. Do I need to get a tune after install?..thanks

If that is all you are going to do you should be alright. It is like adding a lid or a cat back system it will flow alot better and unleash some extra horsepower. You aren't changing any of the major engine running conditions.

I picked up a lot from tuning after I did headers, ported thottle body, and ORY pipe. With just a change to LT's, you'll need to be leaned out some, especially if you have a larger cam.

I would tune it. Your AFR will change after the install.

You'll also need to some codes tuned out unless you're going to run O2 sims.

Did you get the car tuned after the converter?

What part of the tune is related to the converter? I would love to raise my rpms 400-500 around town..Do I need 3.73s or 4.10s?

Timing, most tuners limit or delete the torque management settings.

what kind of gain should i be expecting? what kind of numbers sound right? i have 326rwhp and 330 rwtq, as we speak, car has a little over 30,xxx. if i were to get 375 rwhp and about the same in rwq i would be very surprised but not disappointed.

by the way did Big D's talk to you about the pic i posted for you all the other day? if not tell that boy he needs to check it out!

Before the new motor and setup, my car with a 3600 stall , ORY, and 3.73's dyno'd 360/370. It had a baby 220/220 112 cam and most folks thought these numbers were pretty good. With a tight tune, I'm just guessing you'll make 345/350. With our A4's, the track is where you'll shine. Don't worry about the dyno numbers. Take it out to the track and you'll be pleasantly surprised at your times for sure.
