headers are probably going to be my next purchase and i have had a few guys suggesting some that are upwards of $600.....way outta my price range at the moment....ive seen some stainless longtubes on ebay for a reasonable price...less than $200....is there something i should know about headers that would cause me to see why people pay so much for them?

if you want easy and pretty good quality go with pacesetters ceramic lt's, they usually run 500 for the headers and the y . . . the ebay ones ive actually heard pretty good things about for bein so cheap but i dont know what y pipe fits them . . do a search on here for ebay headers, im pretty theres good thread with real ls1ers installation comments. i dont know much about the more expensive ones except they fit close to perfect i believe.

i know what ya mean man . . . well if you look under your car on the drivers side youll see a flat portion in the stock y, this will give an idea how restrictive the stock one is. most lt's headers are offroad (no cats). so if you get lts with a offroad y you will have no cats. . . therefore you will need to get your rear o2's deleted on your computer. this is prob the best setup unless you have strict emission regulations where you live.

so when i 86 the cats and such will i need a tune on the ecu???...im tryin to do it all in one swoop so im tryin to get an idea as to how much money i need....i was planning on a ls6 manifold after the headers so i kinda wanted to wait for a tune until that was done.

yeap . . . and if your plannin on other bolts on i would wait on tune so you can tune only once. maybe frost will chime in here. . . i believe you can send him your computer and hell tune it to what you have done and send it back fast.

GET THE EBAY HEADERS!!!! I got mine for $240 shipped(Trendy_mans dude) to my door and paid $40 bucks for some a freind of a friend to hack 0ff and weld shut the air fittings and drop the driver side collector down (if not it will hit the floorboard). All in all $280, and they look awesome. Oh, and you will need heat wrap cause 3 of your wires and the clutch line will touch those bad boys. I will post pics....maybe tomorrow when it's light outside lol.
I'm a cheap ass and took the "risk" and it paid off. Wesman had the same LT's on his car, but painted hem black. They're listed in the TD exhaust sticky.
