What will work?

I got some kooks racing headers off a friend who sold his car for 400 bucks they have some slight damage but are in good shape, now for the tricky part.... will about any Y pipe work or do i haveto go with a kooks Y, cuz i priced some and am not likeing their prices. I also plan on leaving it from the y-back for now till some more funds kick in so what size will i need to mate up to the stock pipe going back to the mufler. And if i go with an off road y what all will i need for like o2 extensions or plugs or what not. I know there are alot of questions but any help is appreciated. thanks
