What size headers?
I plan on putting new headers on my car this winter and I have decided to go with kooks headers and y pipe w/ no cats. Should i get 1 7/8" or 1 3/4"??? My car is stock except for an air lid and 3" cat back and i plan on getting a new cam and heads as soon as i get the money. I read that 1 3/4 is good on a mostly stock car but i plan on super charging my car later on down the road. Should i just get the 1 7/8" headers?

Can go with the 1 7/8" tubes, but it may loose a little low end torque. Wouldn't be much.
Doubtful there would be much HP gain until the very upper RPM's.

Ok thanks i will go with the 1 7/8". I was also looking at some hooker headers and they are alot cheeper than the kooks. Is there much difference performance wise between them?

Probably not much performance wise.
Although, the Kooks are top notch. I have had them on my car for 4+ years now, and they still look brand new. I highly recommend them if you have the coin.2008 Trailblazer SS

Current best: 10.60/126.8- 1998 Pontiac TA WS6
Kooks are the best. I agree, go ahead and get the 1 7/8 so if you buy a bigger cube motor later you'll already have a better header. Probably not much power difference if any on a stock cubed motor between the 1 3/4 and 1 7/8, but a 400+ cube motor you might gain 10 hp or maybe alittle more. American Racing Headers are good too, and alittle less costly.

I have 1 7/8" kooks with catless y pipe and love them both i'm fairly stock as well but. Like luos said they still look brand new. I don't wanna nickel and dime anything when it comes to the car.
