Weiand 5000 Intake
Anyone know anything about this intake? The write up sounds interesting, not sure if it performs this well.

Yea they have been postponing this intake for quite some time. The ship date has changed so many times I lost count.
If I see it start shipping and hear about the quality from someone I'll be in but until then I plan on a FAST haha.
I have heard that this intake will produce better low end hp/torque. This fits into my build since I don't like that the FAST only gets you the most power at top end.
Cross your fingers for this myth to become a reality....

something like 2 years and counting on that release date. I wish it would happen and be all that they promised because FAST needs some competition.

Yeah i really want to see something compete with the F.A.S.T. to drive the price down.

Not impressed... looking at the post on ls1tech. Advertised +30 HP/TQ over LS6 manifold. FAST 90 intakes do that!!! not to mention, look how on all the runs @ 6000 RPMs it falls flat on its arse, allowing stock manifolds to pull longer. FAST 90 has known/proven results to pull more all the way across the board. And you can get the Weiand 5000 for $650, or opt for the FAST 92 for $840. I agree with a lot of the post on ls1tech, they shoulda tested it against a LS6 manifold. There is too much room left for speculation on their tests, and it doesn't really tell us F-body owners what to expect. And they seriously coulda and should have tested it against a FAST 90 or FAST 92. I am thinking the FAST would out perform it... my .02
Will stick with my ported FAST 90. Love it and haven't looked back since swapping out my LS6 intake to the FAST!!!

i will hold off to see the numbers with a ls1.
if it gives the same huge midrang numbers as the ls2 i may get 1
yes it falls flat past 6000 but i dont go there would rather have better bottom end.

i'm surprised fast does not offer several different version of intake ,tailored to engine size or rpm range.

i believe if you dig deep enough into a pile of big foot droppings you will find a Weiand intake.
