Not so familiar with brands...BTW, what's wrong with the old one? I once had a bad eep water pump before. It had caused my wrangler to overheat...oh I never want that to happen again!

My car is getting up there in miles and the stock one starting to leak. Plus my town is pretty hot and lots of traffic so I figured I just get somthing better.

Hey guys,
My Z has over 70k miles and I just replaced my water pump this past weekend. I installed a Meziere and it is a sweet piece of machinery!
I did find out a couple of things that may help you. Your factory pump isn't going bad just becuase it is leaking. What I found with my factory pump when I pulled it out was the gaskets were shrunk, so much so that 2 of them got sucked in. The other ones were so brittle that they broke when I tried to take them out. So, if you WANT to spend the big dollar for the Meziere and gain 10-12 then go ahead but be prepared to do some grinding on your TB so it will clear the new pump. If you don't want to go with the new pump, just get a couple of new gaskets ($25 for both) and you're set.
Overall, a very easy install.
If you have other questions about this install, PM me.
PS: IF your factory pump IS going bad, I'm selling mine for $80 plus shipping.

Grinding? I didnt know you had to grind the TB, do you have any pic's of where and how you had to? What if you have a ported or aftermarket TB?

Well, your a/m t/b might fit right in. I just know that in my case and according to Meziere's install instructions, it did state that in some models (like mine) grinding of the t/b's lower left corner as you're looking at it from the front of the car and the linkage had to be grinded to clear the new pump. Today I'm going home to grind a little more off the linkage because it is still sticking a little. The t/b fits perfect but the linkage hits the pump by a hair.
I can send pics if you want. Let me know.

No problem, I'll take some today after work. That little bit of grinding I did yesterday did the trick, no more sticking!

Meziere Water Pump Clearance Issue
Ok, here they are. Notice the red circles which point out the areas where clearance was an issue. Look at the linkage's bottom where I used a Dremmel to grind it down as well as the lower left of the TB under the mounting bolt.

Great thanks for the heads up. Did you notice any water temp drop with the new pump?

Yes, about 10 degrees less and because I'm not using a thermostat, I get constant 50gpm at the same temp. I'm sure if I had a therm, the water in the radiator would cool a little more but that's only my guess. I'll try it when I drop in my 160 therm.
