You'd be better off with an ls6 intake
Not to mention the vortec is ugly

Although ugly, the truck intakes are far superior to the LS1 intake, and slightly better than the LS6. Too bad they don't clear to cowl on our cars.

i would put the vortec intake close to the ls1 intake and the ls6 being far superior

So far it sounds like the vortec intake would be similar to the tpi intake thats on the first gen sbc.it comes across as making more torq than the ls1 or ls6.How much taller is it than the ls1 or ls6 and how much restrictive than a ls1 or ls6.

You were just shown the truck intake is a downgrade from the ls-1 intake, you would also need new fuel rails.

The 90mm truck intake is the best cathedral port intake GM makes, and this has been proven over and over again. You just don't hear about it much because both the F and Y body cars cannot use them.

There is a reason why they're used in high dollar race engines where an OEM intake manifold is required. And it's certainly NOT low end torque.

On a truck forum they showed it....it performed better than the ls1 but did not the ls6 or the fasts...that is why I am confused about his post about race engines....

    truck intake

I have read many places that the truck intake can hang with the ls6 it gives up a little on the top end but smokes an ls1 intake, I have decide it is not worth the coin to swap to an ls6 and i would not even consider a ls1 the truck has a larger tb witch is better. and relly the extra tq will move you out of the hole if your heavy I say if you have room run the truck intake and spend your money on a cam swap ls6 intake and rails are gonna run you about 300-400 bucks you can keep your intake spend about double that and get a cam swap and tune and be very happy just my .02
