    Volant install question

I just installed a used Volant intake and had a question. When you are connecting the "Y" pipe to the MAF, which side of the airbox does the clamp go on? I put it on the inside, but it doesn't look right. Also, it came with some little mushroom-shaped rubber grommet and I have no idea where it goes. Any ideas?

Put it on the side where the MAF is. Mine was in there pretty tight, but you can never be too safe. Get a Fernco 3" to 3" coupling while you're at it. $5 bucks, and a nice smoothe bellows!!!!

Here is a some picture of it installed. I tried the fernco, but it just was not going to fit. There accordian bellows works best for me b/c there was too much of an angle for the fernco to bend.

You have to cut off an 1/8 inch from the top lip, on half of the coupling, on the throttle body side for it to get enough of an angle to fit both the TB and MAF. Wow that was a run on sentance lol. I have the Volant, and Fernco works great. Did you not cut off the top lip, because it definately will not work without doing so?

I was unaware you needed to cut the fernco at all. I got it to fit on the TB side, but it was too inflexible to then attach to the MAF. Any pics of your fernco on the TB side?
