The Tornado bolt on part...joke right?
I was just thumbing through a Summit racing catalogue,
and ran across one of those "Tornado" bolt on parts that claims a 5-10 hp increase, and even more unbelievable, up to 15% fuel economy, when you bolt it on your air intake. I remember when these things came out a while ago on TV infomercails and always figured they were a joke (claiming things like "air molecular technology" to increase performance!) and can't believe someone has'nt filed a class action suit agains't this thing, but I was kind of shocked to see it show up in a respected catalogue. Just curious, has anyone out there actually used one of these in their car and seen any difference in hp/fuel economy performance?

You are correct, it is a joke. As of right now I believe the only owner who uses one on this site is Spaz

your engine naturally makes a vacuum. because of this air gets sucked up with a good amount of pressure. these will sometimes be pulled apart and bits of plastic get into your engine. its happened to people that use them.
