250 is pretty damn big, youll def be needing a good tune.
Most people here either get a dyno tune or send their PCM to frost

Custom Swirly Black- 2001 WS6 M6
Better throttle response is all, unless the intake is getting upgraded as well, as the air will bottle neck and be limited no matter what, especially with your LS1 intake.
If your looking to save money, port and polished from eBay will be fine. About $50-75 plus core charge (old TB).
Otherwise, you can look into some 80mm that run about $200, but I wouldn't go any bigger than that on a stock LS1/LS6 intake.
And this is all provided you have a LID and smooth bellow as well, IMO. Those mods with a P&P TB (or larger aftermarket TB) complement each other well.

Current engine mods?
On a stock engine I believe about a 125 shot is as much as you want to attempt if you plan on any longevity.

you would probably need bigger injectors also. Thats a big shot, hopefully you plan on doing a wet shot because a dry 250 shot would be intense on your motor. you would DEFINITELY need a tune, a dyno tune at that to make sure your car is performing good under that amount of nitrous

as KM said, your main improvement / gain is going to be throttle response with porting the stocker.
