Those that installed their e-cutouts themselves...
Just one question...
What switched source did you use for the power??
The dual e-cutouts on my car are gonna be FUN! Probably installing tomorrow if I get outta work in time.

we run a wire to the fuse box up front on the installs we do. Just make sure its a switched 12volt source.
Thanks,
Mark

I have a fairly new battery with a single QTP cutout and it drained in a couple days and got worse over time. The instructions specifically say to wire to a switched 12V, you should do it right the first time. I tapped into the ashtray light because it's only on when lights are on and I always turn my lights on cause my HID's look cool even in daylight.

Wire it to the wipers. Its power on with key on and you will most likely NEVER use the e-cutout in the rain...

Okay....
"Switched source" is something that is on when the ignition is on correct??
I have everything installed except power and switch.

Yes! The easiest way is to wire it to the ashtray light, only thing is you will have to at least have your parking lights on. The wire is right there beside the best place to put the switch, which is beside your right knee. This way if the cops pull you over your not reaching to far to close it.

i tested my wires to my cutout with my voltage tester. and what do u know. there was no voltage there for either wire. i have 12 volts when i use the switch in either position. so thus proving that the cutout doesnt need constant power to hold the cut out in place. the electric motor/gears do that on its own

I just used the 12V switched source I have for my gauges.
Works great.

i dont know. maybe its a coincidence that you happen to have a battery draw after u put in your e cutout. im thinking they say switched so someone doesnt go playing with it a bunch with te car off? i dunno...everything aftermarket you install in a car now adays says use switched power. so u got me. but i also know that it uses no power when just sitting
