That is something that i dont get. Some modifications are smog legal but then again even those legal performance parts may cost you a ticket if a cop pulls you over and finds those things on your car.

Heard around that a few guys were getting pulled over in NJ and cops where looking under the car for headers. WTF>? Makes me think twice about cruising down to Irish weekend tomorrow to check out the cars on the boardwalk.

all LT's are illegle in cali... BECAUSE.... they move the original location of the cats... and u have to delete the rear o2's or get sims... although there are peeps that will overlook this and pass it for u... but you also gotta fork over a few more benjermins
now heres the hard part.. cops are really crakin down on all mods in cali! there even suing (sp?) car manufactures because there emissions are to high... i almost got in trouble for a lid cmon now? a lid? now thats messed up.. i was just super nice to the cop and he let me go. he seen my cats were gone and cutout... but being nice is the key... it wont always work... but it helps... also they are training cops to kno wat to look for... they always look for cats.. but they all dont kno wat lt's are.. but soon will change in cali.. witch sucks ass... pretty soon it will get to the point where u can only drive around a compleatly stock car on the streets...

You have to take your car to a tune shop after you get ANY lt's or your car wont run right.

how much will the tune cost

are you saying you think that a car would run bad or YOURS has.?
because, when i did MY LT's with NO cats and a cut-out my car ran FINE.... i even drove it after i did MY H/C foe a couple hundred miles and it drove fine.... but after a tune, it drove MUCH nicer....
you would be fine driving after LT's with out a tune. thou, you will be leaving 10-15rwhp on the table.
good luck to you.

No I dont have headers yet. I have worked with other T/A owners that put thiers in. Out of the four of them, 2 LOST power AND SLOWER 1/4 mile. Till they got a tune. Some professionals say LT's with no tune is a waist of time and $$$
A tune will usually run $300 - $450

Mine runs fine with my LT's and no tune.
A tune just utilizes more of the part than with a factory tune. You'll see more gains with a tune, but its not mandatory with LT's.

a tune is not needed.. but yes your car will run ALOT better with a tune.. it will be faster.. and the pcm will be able to work more efficient now that it knows why all of a sudden there is alot less restriction... i have my lt's no tune... not even hpp3... and it runs good.. but i think its running to rich.. and has some power that needs to be made up with a tune.. but im just gunna wait till my cam goes in.. and get it all tuned together.. no reason to pay twice rite?
