    slp lid modification question

I have a 99 T/A with the WS6 suncoast creations hood and a SLP air lid. My question is, can I modify the lid to be a functional ram air box and save a few hundred $ vs buying the functional box. I know the HP gain from ram air is minimal (1 - 5 HP @ 80 mph, maybe) , so a big gain isn't my concern, just maximizing what I already have.

The 93-97 'Birds use a different intake box that breathes top to bottom.

98-02 'Birds breath from the bottom, our intake flows better than the 93-97 RA.

Don't try and re-invent the wheel,do the FRA mod to the bottom of your stock intake to get the extra flow.

    ^^
This, doing the FRA will give you far better air flow the the Ram Air Mod. Only one drawl back is that you will need to change/clean (K&N) your filter more.

    I couldnt find the sticky.
Your air filter sits in a plastic tray. Cut the bottom out leaving only the edge and the center support. Thats the free air mod as far as I know. I'll post a pic of mine later for you.
I used a jigsaw with a blade made for plastic. Die grinder to smooth out the edges. A file would work if you don't have a grinder.
