Yes it can. Most likely you are running real lean. Get it tuned.

When you mean tuned, do you have to get a programmer?

You really need to get it to someplace that can measure fuel-air ratio and re-program based on that. You really don't want to run lean: you won't have your engine for long.

You just can't be sure. I've seen it go both ways. Worse, on a lot of engines it goes both ways but at different RPMS. My vette went slightly lean at low RPM and a bit rich at higher -- all a function of the scavenging effect of the headers, etc.

It depends on the cam and the headers and . . . and a million other things. Could be you are down on power because you running too rich now. But until you get it tuned well, you won't know and you definately won't have the power back.

could just feel weaker because you lose the backpressure...........less torque??? I suppose it could be just about anything.....you should get it looked at by a professional tuner, IMHO.

When I put my Pacessetters LTs and ORY, I felt like i lost power in the bottom end, but I could definately tell that I gained in the top end. I was running very rich at low RPM. My track times stayed the same but When I ran with headers it was in the summer hot as hell. Getting it tuned is the best thing to do right now. A shop that uses LS1 edit or something similar would be your best bet. It's expensive at first but usually once you pay the initial fee, the shop will only charge you about $100 for each tune afterwords.

    That's been my experience anyways

Okay, so bottom end meaning low rpms.. and top end high rpms?
Also- will it be okay for me to just purchase 02sims for now and drive on her until I'm able to have to money for a dyno tune? (couple weeks or so)

bottom end--lower speeds, when at the track the first part of the track
(maybe not a loss of power but a loss of torque)
top end--higher speeds, latter part of the track

O2 sims, you have to have the front O2 sensors, you can't use sims (at least as far as i've been told)

for some reason, after i installed the K&N FIPK during the summer, i was recieving codes of running too rich....hasnt since i guess cuz of the cooler weather. if its running richer, that means its running slower??? also, how much does a dyno tune cost, i think ill get 1 after a few more mods.

Generally as you make more power with a stock tune your car will start running leaner. There are many reasons why this happens, most of it has to do with the MAF, but basically you need a tune. Basically as the mods pile up on the car, the farther from factory parameters everything is and eventually you'll hit a point were the pcm can't handle the changes.

In 99.9% of setups you have to run front o2s.

If you have no cats, you can either run o2 sims in place of the rear o2s or not, you will get an SES light but it will have no affect on how the vehicle operates.
