See my mods. Should I buy that LS6 intake or FAST?
Alright, I have this TA, It makes really good power for sure. I have some bugs to work out with a couple codes, maybe you guys could help there too!http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91079
I have the LS1 intake and TB right now. It is seriously hurting my power and torque. I can not afford to go with a new cam right now, but I can get a LS6 intake for 300$ shipped. I know my current power 373 RWHP and 409 RWTQ will go up very nicely. Probably not the torque so much, but the HP will.
What do you guys think? Should I save up for the FAST 90/90? Or save some much needed change and get the LS6 with a nice TB? I would hate to always wonder what if about the FAST, but I have heard the power difference is pretty minimal. The exception being the FAST with no heat soak. What do you guys think???? Damn, That is all I have been thinking. I would hate to et the LS6 and wonder what kinda power I left on the table. Isnt the difference about 5 - 10 HP? Just wondering. I know Im leaving ALOT on the table with these shitty ass LS1 intake and TB. AT this point im thinking anything is better than what I got
The cheapest I have seen a used FAST go for is around XXX XXX bucks. ANyone see any place selling one for less?
ANyone with the LS6 that wishes they had spent the cash and gotten the FAST 90/90?
Edited because they have to be going for cheaper than 800 - 900 bucks. Searching now!Last edited by Hi-Po; 07-07-2008 at 04:08 PM.

fast is overkill without a big cam, and more money than they are worth. I would go ls6, because really there isnt much difference until way up in the powerband.
so you still have the stock ls1 cam and you are making over 400rwtq? where did you get your car dyno'd? I wanna go there

Pewter metallic- 2000 Camaro SS
With a stock motor, I got 12 RWHP gain with LS6 intake versus the LS1 intake. You would get more since you have a cam, probably like 18 RWHP. I think you would gain more like 25 RWHP with the FAST, maybe more though. I am not personally experienced with the FAST. If you plan on a bigger cam later and possibly heads, the FAST will benefit you much more so than the LS6 would.

Look at one of the recent GMhightech mags that installed a 92/92 fast and had some great gains with less mods than you. It costs more but seems very effective.
