Your better off taking it to a shop and getting a custom tune done on a dyno. Should run around 300 to 400 bucks

It'll probably run rich after the LT's but it'll still run decent...you just won't get the full benefit until you get a tune.

install the headers when you have enough cash saved up for a dyno tune.
doing things half ass can cost you more in the end

if the tuner doesnt have hp tuners or ls1 edit software, go elsewhere

I agree.....if you plan on doing more mods in the near future then just wait. Not a big deal. I havent tuned my car yet but I plan on getting heads, cam and stall very soon. Tuning it will yield a little more power but like I was saying I am hoping to only have to tune it once.

Well this guy in western washington is hella known... He said just to buy the tuner... and then he would do a dyno tune on the car... it is costing me about 700 with the tuner... he has a 9 second street mustang.

Like said above, if hes not working with hp tuners, or ls1 edit then i woudnt even waste my time. Theres a little more involved then just the a/f ratio. I instailed my lt's and ory and a year later got my tune, car ran fine without the tune but you will set off the check engine light until you get your rear 02's deleted or you pick up some sims.
You will see gains without the tune but to get the most out of your instail a tune is good, when i got mine tunned i got lifetime tunes, all i have to do is pay for some dyno time.

Like they said, it'll run fine without the tune. Wait to have it done with HP Tuner/LS1 Edit.

The shop version (unlimited pcms) is several thousand I believe, no way you should pay a tuner that so he can tune everyone elses car.

I got a Mail order tune from Mad Z28. It's $225 I believe and any future tunes are $50. I wouldn't pay $400 to get my car dyno tuned unless I was installing Heads and or a Cam as then its neccessary. I would stay away from the predetor IMO.
