Is it safe?
I have a 117,000 mile ls1. Runs like new. Ive wanted to put a cam in the car but ive been told its got too many miles to put cam in it and it react to the cam good. i dont know what kind of cam yet. Its a daily driver so nothing crazy of corse just something with great driveability and great power & operating range any suggestions?

Midnight Blue- 2000 Camaro Z28
i would just get something small like a 224. it'll be a good time to change out your springs, retainers, pushrods, lifters, oil pump, water pump, timing chain set, harmonic balancer, and possibly rockers too. i wouldn't see a cam of about that size doing any kind of damage to your engine. a couple of the things listed above should be needed for the change while the rest are highly recommended due to the high mileage and ease of replacement since everything will already be off. if i forgot anything, anybody feel free to chime in. good luck with the modding.
