    Question On Egr Valve!?!

Is there a way to delete EGR system from 00' Z-28 LS1 intake setup!

I was told they make a block off plate to cover hole on intake, and that you can program it out in order to avoid check engine light and pass inspection.

    Is this true?
If so,where can you find parts to do this?

Yes, this is very true. You have to buy and install block-off plates that connect to the intake manifold. Then block off the EGR on the exhaust and cap the vacuum. Then zap the codes with a tune. You can find this stuff on Ebay.

An expandable freeze out plug works fine for the intake. You can buy block offs for the manifolds but it's not hard to just make them. Trace around your stock egr plate that bolts to the manifold and cut it out then put it back on with a gasket and you're done. I'll have to look in the shop at my old stock manifold for the freeze out plug size. 1 3/8" keeps coming to mind but I'll check to make sure.

It is 1 3/8", buddy of mine got his from Auto Zone - think they called it an expansion plug? - it's gold and has a nut on top to tighten it.

Forget the handheld and get some software.
