    Qtp?

So it only took two or three months to decide on the headers for my ride. QTP longtubes are my choice. I looked and see little talk about these headers. Has anyone tried them? I only want quality, and I think they look good. Any advice anyone? Someone installed a dynomax cat back on this car, and I hope it's three inch. Thanks for any help as so many of you are very knowledgable.

great choice. KOOKS and QTP r the best IMO for the ls1. installation isnt bad at all. Jack the car up a decent way up and take your time. Id suggest to ask some1 to help you throughout the process if ur a lil unsure. Man im so jelous, i was gonna get the same headers last year but my neighbors are beging... about my car being loud with just a catback.

    orignal QTP's or new version?
orignals fit great but theres a trick to get them in
newer version have alot of fitment issues since KOOKS no longer make them... i wonder why they dropped price so much (in half) .... hmmmm

kooks are always a good option....

Best option are American Racing Headers though
(former employees left KOOKS bc they treat employees like shit & started ARH)... also the popular dual/dual over the axle set up by kooks was designed by the owner of ARH when he was @ kooks

Hey thanks for the heads up. I have ordered the new QTP with the merge collectors. I thought the fittment would be good, but has anyone installed these yet? Still three inches of snow here so I have some time yet. I really like that you can get them without air and egr fittings. I'll post how the install goes if you guys like.

modification may have to be made to fit the steering

on the driver side remove the oil filter & plug to aid dropping them in...
tilt upwards & line the 2nd primary (i want to say # 5 cyl?) up with the oil plug hole and go straight up... it will pop right in... ill double check what im saying & get back to you

    Good Info!
One of the primary tubes is close, but does not come in contact with the steering shaft. Some cars may be different.

So I hear these will be a bitch. I hope not. Too much money, but yes just think, these cars are kinda valuable. I will not modify the car, but I have no problem bending tools and longtubes. This is just the start of this ride. I installed headers on a few past, and the worst was an 89 GTA with SLP longtubes. I expect this to be at least as bad...
