    (Probably) Stupid exhaust tip question

Pardon my ignorance on the matter, but... does the style of tip have anything to do with the finished end-note of the exhaust, or is it purely for aesthetics? For example, a 3" round slash-cut vs. a 3" square straight-cut vs. a dual-dual?

    Excellent, thank you.

Any good options out there? 95% convinced to go with dual-dual, but I can only seem to find Flowmaster and SLP tips. Is there one brand folks enjoy over another due to quality/price or are all stainless ones pretty much the same quality and you pay for the label?

My heart's set on a TSP Rumbler, I just want a set of nice dual-duals to finish it off.

Awesome - thanks. Rumblers are 2.5" outlets - grabbing them now.

i disagree, i believe exhaust tips have the ability to affect sound of the exhaust system. do i have solid proof, no. how much of a difference, i dont know.

however, thinking logically and accoustically...sound traveling through an object, how sound waves reverb, can cancel out other sounds waves, through bends, curves, straight pipes, tips, etc., within a confined space unit it exits, i believe the size, length and diameter of exhuast tips can alter the final sound. just my .02 cents.

I think I may be siding with SS on this one. Example - oval CME sounds different than dual/dual or single outlets.

Where you you guys 3 days ago

Well, the dual-duals will be here tomorrow. They're clamp-on, so if I have a chance to grab some single ovals for a good price, I'll compare the two. Do the tips *really* matter though with something that has no muffler? I mean most of the gusto comes from the resonator, right? So running with no tips would theoretically sound better since it's one less part to affect the sound waves.

IDK, I'm honestly new to the modding for the most part. Had the car since '02, only put 22k miles on her. Did all the induction stuff back in the day but left everything else until...well, now!
