Ported Throttle body and cable Question
I should of done more research before I purchased a ported throttle body but anyway I have a 99 WS6 and purchased a ported TB off a 01 and now have the problem of my throttle cable being too short, the sprocket that the cable attaches too is larger on the 01 throttle body and my cable holds it open enough to cause high reving. Is it possible to adjust my cable and make it a little longer or do I need to just re-sell and buy a tb off 99 specifically? Thanks for your help fellas.

You can adjust the cable but if there's enough slack I dunno....but it's worth a shot.

I did in fact end up swapping cam and shaft from my stocker to the ported one, worked out just fine, was easier to do than I thought it would be. Thanks guys.

There should be a cable adjuster, along the cable, somewhere above the intake manifold. Just follow the cable back, and there should be a tube with a clip on it. Undo the clip and slide the cable back and forth, until you have just enough slack, then slip it back on and roll....

uscrew the butterfly blade, slide it out. Get a rubber or brass mallet and hit the end of the shaft that held the blade, not the end the cable hooks too but the opposite end, use rubber or brass because it is softer than what you are hitting and wont cause the shaft to mushroom....couple good taps and it will come right out, it has a small thin lock nut but it will come off with a couple taps, no need to reuse that nut I talked to a guy that does alot of porting of tbs on LS1tech.com that is how I obtained my knowledge. Give it a shot.
