do cats actually affect the emissions. For example when the hook up them emission hoses to the exhaust will the presence of cats affect the test making you car not passable. Or can i simply get an ORY and weld on the housing for the cats around them.

If they actually "sniff" for emissions in your area, then you need cats. IF they just do a visual check, then the aforementioned will do fine...

well in my area things are apparently not so clearly defined. At one shop I had my car sniffed. At another 15 mins down the road he simply crouched down and said OK you pass. Im thinking that the second guy who owns an 02 ss with an LS7 in it is the better choice. Ive known both shops for years and im pretty sure the latter will be a more agreeable mechanic
and the second shop owned by a mr. ANONYMOUS also owns an alcohol racer and an 8 second 5.0, hes a damn cool 65 year old - and i have no idea how old he really is..Last edited by WinSomeLoseNone; 03-15-2006 at 09:21 AM.

If he's helping you illegally pass emissions, be so kind as to not list his name on the internet
