o2 sim Question
When you add headers to your car, do you have to add 2 o2 sim to the front and then get the back tuned out, or can you just leave the stock o2 sensor in it and just get the code tuned out and not have a light? Can someone clear that up for me.

i dont think the stock front ones are long enough to work...but i know most people just get the rear O2's tuned out

you need to run o2's for the front, the sims are for the rears.

You tune out the rear two O2 sensors, you need and want the front two, so your PCM knows how to adjust your fuel/air ratio. You need O2 extensions for them, since they will be relocated with your long tube headers. You are getting long tubes, correct? And an ORY with those LT headers? No emission testing in FL, right?

Ok so i dont need the o2 simulators then.. I was gonna buy pacesetter Lt w/ Pacesetter ORY, then buy the corvette o2 sensors for the front, and leave the stock o2 sensors in the back. Then ill take it to a dyno shop and have them cut out the codes for the rear o2 sensors. Im right in saying i wont need o2 simulators in this case correcT? And yes there is no emission checking in florida.

Correct. You NEED front 02's, but the shop will just tune out the rear 02's. See, your 02 sensors read front to back (upstream to downstream) and if the reading from the back (downstream) differs too much from the front (upstream), then it'll throw a code. They just tune the rears to read within the allocated range, no matter what the temp actually is. Also, many people say that tuning them out is better than sims, because if you're having a problem (ex: running lean) they can adjust that as well, and your car will run to it's max potential.

You'll want a tune for sure. Without the rears my AFR was like 11 to 1.

Your front sims adjust you mixture the rear two because your car is odb2 is only there to make sure you cat is there, nothing else. If you are running your cats you don't need them, if your not going to there is an easier way to fool your ecu than spending money on sims, cost is about ten bucks..
