New Alum Air box
I have a question…….I am manufacturing an Air Box / Lid from 6061 Aluminum. The factory air box is about 2” away from the hood outlet for the Ram Air. I wanted to take advantage of the Ram Air and make the new air box seat against the hood outlet. I did the mod where I cut open the bottom of the factory air box for more air.
The question is: should I rely on the Ram Air providing enough air flow or should I open the bottom up to pull air from under the car and possibly lose and effect from the Ram air force

Check out the Fast Toys ram air setup. Their setup has a plenum that runs from the bottom of the air box down to the bottom of the front bumper. On their setup, they completely seal the front of the airbox off so that the only air coming in is the air through the plenum. Alot of people who have switched to this setup are claiming improved throttle response, I have no first-hand knowledge just what I have read.
